September is Attendance Awareness Month.

 September is Attendance Awareness Month.  Please take a few minutes to share the following presentation with your homeroom.  It will require a tiny amount of reading but I promise that it is painless.  As you all are aware, attendance is a HUGE issue at Bosse.  The counseling department greatly appreciates your help and support as you discuss the importance of students attending school every day.

Also,

• Do not allow any students to leave prior to the start of Enrichment.
• Hold all Enrichment passes until both the drill and Spirit Week announcements are complete.
• Once we announce for doors to be locked, any students in the hallways or bathrooms must report to Kristin Anderson in room 101.
• If you do not have an Enrichment class, you may be assigned to support a substitute's class.
• ALL staff should follow along with the slides in the ALICE drill, regardless if you have students in your room. ALL must be knowledgeable.
• There may be additional officers in the building to assist with the drill.

In addition to Football Homecoming being next week, the counselors are celebrating College GO! Week, September 25-29.

 In addition to Football Homecoming being next week, the counselors are celebrating College GO! Week, September 25-29. 

The goal is to help high school seniors navigate the college admissions process and ensure each student submits at least one admissions application. Many Indiana universities join in the celebration by taking away their college application fees for a day so that students can apply for free.

We are excited to share the Spirit Dress Days and other events for College Go Week and Football Homecoming Week this year. 

Please reference and post the attached flyer and slides for your students. 

Monday- 

• Set Your Sights on the Finish Line Dress Day
• Homeroom teachers will receive a BINGO card for each student. Encourage students to ask for signatures during passing periods. 
• Seniors are invited to the Fine Gallery during Enrichment to apply to colleges. A Google Form will be sent out, we are doing 3 homerooms at a time

Tuesday- 

• All the Places You Will Go Dress Day
• encourage students to take pictures with the balloon arch in the front lobby and send to the counseling office

Wednesday-

• Build Your Future Dress Day
• Seniors are invited to the Fine Gallery during Enrichment to apply to colleges. A Google Form will be sent out, we are doing 3 homerooms at a time
• Virtual Scavenger Hunt sheets will be given to all homerooms
• Students and their families are invited after school to the Media Center for college research and application help from 2:45- 5:30

Thursday-

• Adam Sandler Dress Day
• continue students to take pictures with the balloon arch in the front lobby and send to the counseling office

Friday-

• Bosse Super Fan Dress Day
• Pep Assembly and King/Queen Voting during enrichment
• turn in BINGO and virtual scavenger sheets to the counseling office
• Counseling office will announce winners of the college swag and prizes at the end of the day
