Veteran's Day aka Remembrance Day

 1.  November 11, 1918 at 11 am a ceasefire was called for World War I silencing the 24/7 artillery fire on the Western Front.  

This day was known as Armistice Day until 1954 when President Eisenhower signed the holiday into law.

It is known as Remembrance Day in England, France, and Belgium.
